Connecting words: because, but, then, when

Use a small set of high-value connectors to make Lithuanian speech and writing sound more connected and natural.
You unlock connected speech tools: “nes”, “bet”, “tada”, “po to”, “kai”, and “todėl”.

Teacher explanation
This lesson makes your Lithuanian sound more human. Up to now, you could produce many correct sentences. Now you connect them. That one change makes your speech feel much more natural.
The goal is not grammar analysis. The goal is flow: because, but, then, after that, when, therefore.
Key language
Connected speech = sentence + link + sentence
You do not need long paragraphs yet. Just connect one idea to the next with the right small word. That already changes your Lithuanian a lot.

Quick practice
Learner notes
- • Connectors are short, but important. Say them clearly, not too fast.
- • Todėl often sounds better when spoken as one smooth unit.
- • Nes gives the reason. Todėl gives the result. They are close, but not the same job.
- • This lesson is about flow, not about longer sentences for their own sake.
- • Think of connectors as bridges. One small word can make two separate sentences feel like one real thought.
I can connect ideas with because, but, then, when, and therefore so my Lithuanian sounds more natural and connected.
